Strategic Leadership: Support the Head of Academics in developing and executing the academic vision and strategic plans for the Country Office for Aga Khan Schools (AKS) in India. Collaborate with the Head of Academics and school leadership to set academic goals and ensure alignment with the broader organizational objectives. Lead the central academic team of subject matter experts and ensure effective support of the teachers in the schools across AKS India. Ensure upgrades in pedagogical processes to implement best practice relevant for building 21st century skills, which are culturally relevant. Participate in the recruitment and selection process of senior academic positions at the school level. Assist the Head of Academics with the review and development of school and country office level academic operational policies, processes and procedures manuals. Partner with and contribute to the academic initiatives across other departments within the network. Define, monitor and draft and present reports on the quality indicators and track progress against the various academic initiatives. Curriculum Development / Review / Implementation and Academic Quality Assurance: Lead the development, review, and implementation of the curriculum to ensure it meets organization standards, aligns with global best practices, NEP and meets the needs of students. Ensure the consistency and quality of curriculum delivery across all schools. Ensure that academic programs and teaching methodologies are up-to-date and continuously improve as per AKS global standards. Ensure that existing curricula, education programmes and student assessment and reporting practices are of high quality and relevant to the context and needs of students. Lead the development and implementation of academic monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure academic standards are maintained across schools. Work closely with academic managers to conduct regular assessments, audits, and quality reviews of academic practices. Ensure adherence to academic policies and procedures to guarantee high standards of academic performance. Work to ensure that the academic programs across all schools are implemented to meet the learning needs of all students and promote positive academic outcomes. Oversee interventions for underperforming students and ensure that teachers are equipped to support students with diverse learning needs. Support EdTech integration in the classrooms. Staff Performance, Development and Training: Line manage (including performance appraisal, professional development planning and mentoring) the academic managers at the Country Office. Develop and oversee the implementation of professional development programs for academic staff. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through professional learning communities, workshops, and training sessions. Support the growth and development of academic managers through mentoring and coaching as needed Implement performance management for academic staff, aligned with organizational expectations. Academic Reporting and Data Analysis: Oversee the collection and analysis of academic data across schools, including assessment results, student progress, and performance metrics. Present regular reports on academic performance, progress toward strategic goals, and areas for improvement to the Head of Academics and other key stakeholders. Use data insights to guide decision-making processes and improve academic programs and initiate new programmes as needed. External Stakeholder Engagement: Develop partnerships that support AKS India’s academic goals and enhance academic programming. Network with educational institutions, government education departments, various certification boards (i.e. SSC, IGCSE, IB, ICSE, CBSE, etc.), NGOs; and collaborate with other AKDN education agencies. This is a countrywide role, responsible to oversee comprehensive study management, encompassing team recruitment, meticulous planning, and ensuring the timely and ethical conduct of research protocols. The Manager Research will also be accountable for maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring budgetary compliance, and optimizing resource utilization, all while upholding data integrity and adhering strictly to donor and organizational policies. Additionally, the incumbent will provide regular progress reports to the Head of Research, Principal Investigators and proactively address any challenges to guarantee the successful completion of research studies. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and oversight of study progress and execution to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes. Lead the recruitment, management, and supervision of study teams to maintain optimal performance and accountability. Develop comprehensive and detailed study execution plans, closely managing all activities and deliverables to guarantee completion on schedule, within scope, and in strict adherence to study protocols and ethical research principles. Optimize the allocation and utilization of resources across multiple studies and ongoing programs within GBC to maximize efficiency and impact. Proactively identify and resolve challenges, updating execution plans and strategic approaches as necessary to accommodate delays, obstacles, or unforeseen issues. Ensure all necessary ethical approvals are obtained and maintained, securing timely renewals from relevant ethical review boards throughout the study lifecycle. Foster effective stakeholder engagement and communication, including with government representatives, AKDN colleagues, and study partners, to support collaborative success. Keep the Principal Investigator and research team fully informed of study progress, milestones, and any emerging issues. Uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in all aspects of project execution, including data management, data sharing, consent procedures, and protocol compliance by all staff. Manage study budgets and expenditures rigorously, ensuring alignment with policies of AKU, AKHS, and donor requirements. Establish and maintain robust mechanisms and processes to guarantee full compliance with all donor policies and regulations. Function as a key senior member of the research team, actively contributing to the planning and execution of the study to achieve research objectives effectively. -

Role Description: The Technician will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance activities, including electrical work, carpentry, and general facility repairs. The role includes conducting routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to service requests, and ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards. The Technician will support daily operations by maintaining building systems, assisting in event setups or relocations, and working collaboratively with the facilities team to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. Key Responsibilities Electrical Work Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs of electrical installations. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in lighting, power outlets, DB panels, and small equipment. Ensure proper functioning of backup systems such as generators, UPS, etc. Support the installation of new electrical equipment and wiring as needed. Carpentry Work Carry out wooden furniture repairs and fabrication as required (tables, chairs, cabinets, doors, etc.). Install fixtures, panels, partitions, and shelving using carpentry tools and techniques. Ensure safety and quality finishing in all carpentry-related work. The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa is an International Baccalaureate World School. It is the first in the network of Aga Khan Academies established by His Highness the Aga Khan. The Academy features state-of-the-art facilities, a multicultural student body, and an experienced team of educators and staff. We provide students with education of the highest standard in order to prepare them for lives characterised by leadership and service. Admission to the Academy is means-blind and is based on merit. We consider all eligible students regardless of socio-economic status. The Academy Fellow will live in an apartment and serve the student residential programme as a Residential Parent promoting community life and are responsible for the following aspects of student and academic life. While the Academy Fellow does not teach, s/he will be scheduled to have some contact with classes, to engage fully with the learning and teaching of the Academy so that he/she can support students with additional tutoring after school hours and during residential study time. This will be approximately 10 hours a week (supporting 2 or 3 classes in a subject of the fellow/intern’s choice. Maths and Science are the areas of most need along with English as an Additional Language for our students who join on the Talent Identification Programme from marginalised communities in Kenya.) Developing and delivering the Service- Learning Programme which takes place every week with Years 6-10. A Fundação Aga Khan Portugal está a implementar o projeto “Palavras que Contam – Literatura Intercultural”, uma Iniciativa de Inovação e Empreendedorismo Social que conta com a Câmara Municipal de Sintra como Investidor Social e que tem como objetivo aumentar o índice de leitura entre jovens dos 13 aos 18 anos, no concelho de Sintra. Ao longo de 10 meses, cerca de 50 jovens de comunidades sub-representadas no universo editorial — em particular aquelas que não têm o português como língua materna ou de conforto — irão criar trabalhos narrativos (como novelas gráficas, entre outros formatos). A estratégia do projeto assenta na participação ativa destes jovens num ciclo oficinal de escrita e de ilustração, que culminará com a publicação das obras originais pela Editora Almedina, visando contribuir para um panorama literário mais inclusivo e representativo. A publicação destes originais será celebrada num Festival Literário a realizar em Sintra, no final do projeto. Com este fim, estamos à procura de um/a consultor - ilustrador/a com experiência educativa para dinamizar oficinas de ilustração narrativa com jovens (13-18 anos) no âmbito do projeto “Palavras que Contam”, promovido pela Fundação Aga Khan Portugal, entre setembro de 2025 e junho de 2026. Idealmente, com experiência em novela gráfica, trabalho colaborativo e em contextos multiculturais, num total de: até um máximo de 96 horas de trabalho. Duty & Responsibilities Design and execute tiered intervention systems for students with learning differences Work to identify students with additional support needs to ensure their needs are met. Implement Universal Design for Learning principles and integrate assistive technology to support core subjects. Develop matrices detailing accommodations for math, literacy and science. Contribute to the creation of a differentiated programme that both challenges and meets the needs of all students. Develop strong relationships with parents and caregivers, ensuring a collaborative approach to student support. Serve as the liaison between the school and external specialists, including psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists. Conduct reviews with teachers to adjust intervention intensity, modify instructional strategies, and recommend subject-specific accommodations. Assist with the transition of students from PYP to MYP, which includes leading parent meetings, documenting the meetings and tracking the student’s progress. -
