How to use the system? You can either browse the AKDN Career Centre to review current vacancies or create your own profile within the active AKDN profile database. To review current vacancies You can make a selection of current openings by the following means:

  • Select a region by clicking on the drop-down from the regions box;
  • Select a location by clicking on the drop-down from the locations box;
  • Select one of our sectors of activity;
  • Select openings by AKDN agency.

From the search results page you can review vacancy descriptions in greater detail. You can filter your position selection by any of the following criterion:

  • Req ID;
  • Position title;
  • Location;
  • Agency;
  • Latest requisitions via the date updated.

Once you have reviewed the vacancy description you can apply for the position, add this vacancy to your selection or e-mail the description to a friend. You can also use this description to set up a search agent to notify you in future of similar vacancies. To create/update your profile To create or update your own profile, click on the link Make Speculative Application or once you have selected an appropriate vacancy click on the “Apply for job(s) button. If you wish to update your profile you will need to enter your log in details and click on the edit profile link. What types of vacancies are posted on the site? A range of AKDN employment openings will be posted on this site. Some vacancies may not be posted. If you do not see an opening that corresponds to your experience, please create a speculative application and we shall contact you should a suitable vacancy arise. How often are new positions advertised on the site? New vacancies are advertised on the site on a regular basis. It is worth visiting the site frequently to make sure that you don't miss out on any new opportunities. You can also create a search agent to notify you of suitable positions, as and when they are posted. Can I apply by post? Unfortunately, we cannot accept postal applications. How will I benefit by registering my details? By registering with us, you will be able to apply for vacancies without having to enter your details each time. You will also be able to maintain and update your details whenever you want, and save previous searches so you can access them quickly. Registration also allows our managers to search the database and potentially match you with any suitable roles. You will then be contacted and notified of the vacancy. If you do not see an opening that corresponds to your experience, please create a speculative application and we shall contact you should a suitable vacancy arise. How long will it take me to register or apply for a vacancy? The registration process should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to match your details to suitable vacancies. So please take the time to ensure it is as accurate and full as possible. If you're applying for a vacancy, set aside extra time to allow you to complete the covering letter and answer specific questions about the vacancy. If you do not have time to fully complete your application, you can save it as a draft; however please remember to complete it before the cut-off date for applications. Can I upload a cover letter and other attachments? You are encouraged to include a cover letter with your application. You can also add other attachments such as certificates and written letters of appreciation. Please upload these in the relevant locations provided. Who has access to my data once I have registered? Your details will only be seen by AKDN recruiters and the line manager responsible for the specific vacancy you have applied for. How long will it take to process my application? Generally speaking, you will hear back from us within two weeks of the closing date. If anything happens which is likely to hold up the recruitment process, we shall endeavour to let you know as soon as possible. Application Status Through the application status link, you can check the status of your application. You can also withdraw and/or reactivate your job submission if the job is at the early stages of the selection process. Edit profile If you would like to make changes to your profile or update information, you can do this via the edit profile link. CV Manager The CV manager link lets you store and maintain up to 5 versions of CVs and cover letters, thus allowing you to adapt your job submissions to each role. How will you get in touch with me? If you have applied on-line and have included your e-mail address, we will contact you via e-mail. Please ensure the e-mail address you provide is accurate and is one you access regularly. The e-mail you sent doesn't appear correctly in my e-mail account. What can I do? Because different e-mail providers use different screen widths, the information we send you may look odd, as though it has not been correctly formatted. If this is the case, we suggest changing the settings in your e-mail account. Social Networking Via the Social Networking information link, you can allow AKDN to access to your public profile on social networking sites. Browser versions and operating systems, other than those listed above, may allow you to access the site and use the pages but may not display the site as designed or allow you to access all the functionality.
