Aga Khan University Annual Report 1992
In many ways 1992 marked a turning point for the Medical Centre, as it came closer to fulfilling one of its major objectives to serve as a national resource. The Facultuy of Health Sciences responded to the Government of Pakistan's request for assistance in the formulation of its health policies, and collaborated with the Government of Sindh in assisting two World Bank sponsored programmes - the Family Health Project and the School Nutrition Programme. The first programme is geared towards extending primary health care facilities to the entire Province of Singh, and the second towards improving the nutritional status of primary school children in selected school districts of Singh. Along with the School of Nursing, these initiatives have increasingly enhanced the relevance of the Meical Centre to the society in which it functions.
