The Aga Khan Health Services in Tanzania leads the Tanzania Comprehensive Cancer Project (TCCP), a 38 billion Tanzania Shilling, four-year project jointly funded by the Agence française de développement and Aga Khan Development Network through the Aga Khan Foundation in Tanzania. TCCP aims at reducing the burden of cancer morbidity and mortality in 13 districts of Dar es Salaam and Mwanza through an innovative public-private collaboration.

The Aga Khan University’s Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research has won a Rs 14.5 million (US$ 90,324) grant to develop new, targeted therapies for a common form of blood cancer in adults, Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) leukaemia.
