On 8 June 2021, the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, the Ministry of Climate Change in Pakistan, World Habitat Awards and the United Nations Habitat Programme co-organised an international seminar on Ecosystem Restoration for Quality of Life. The virtual seminar featured climate change experts from all corners of the globe and was part of a series of official events celebrating World Environment Day.
“Moving Together”: AKAH, MIT and KVA MATx work on voluntary relocation planning in Tajikistan
To develop solutions to help vulnerable and disaster-affected communities plan for a better future, the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the design firm KVA MATx collaborated on a case study on voluntary relocation. AKAH, MIT’s Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture (AKPIA), the MIT Norman B. Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism (LCAU) and KVA MATx have been invited to exhibit the project at Giardini, Central Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia curated by Hashim Sarkis.
Global Virtual Convocation of the Aga Khan University
The first-ever global convocation ceremony of the Aga Khan University (AKU) was live-streamed to a worldwide audience today, as 667 students on three continents received their degrees and listened to speeches by His Highness the Aga Khan, Chief Guest Melinda French Gates, AKU President Firoz Rasul, and Student Valedictorians Anam Ehsan and Scoviah.

Co-presented by the Global Centre for Pluralism and the University of British Columbia, this year's lecture was introduced by Princess Zahra Aga Khan who serves on the board of the Global Centre for Pluralism.
Prime Minister Imran Khan lays the foundation for Hunza’s first IT Park
Gilgit, Pakistan, 30 April 2021 - Prime Minister Imran Khan today unveiled a plaque to lay the foundation of Hunza’s first Information Technology Park located in Nasirabad, Hunza. Established jointly by Special Communications Organization of the Government of Pakistan and the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan, the IT Park in Hunza will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure with un-interrupted power supply, high-speed internet facility and a co-working space for small and growing businesses, start-ups, freelancers, and chamber of commerce.
