EU to help uplift Pakistani communities impacted by Covid-19

17 March 2021

The European Union (EU) has decided to co-finance three projects to alleviate the socio-economic impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on communities in Pakistan. The announcement followed the signing of the contracts by the Ambassador of the EU to Pakistan, and representatives of the main implementing partners which include the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). Dr Matt Reed, CEO of AKF UK stated: "During this pandemic, in Pakistan and around the world, civil society has been vital: raising awareness, teaching people how to help their families and neighbours safely, protecting their communities from Covid-19. The AKF is delighted to partner with the EU in strengthening community organisations and civil society at this crucial time."
