A seminar was held on 14 September at the university city of Kazan, Russia, where representatives of the six winner projects of the Aga Khan Awards for Architecture spoke. Bahrain was represented by Eng. Noura Al-Sayeh, who addressed the components of the project and the challenges of its implementation. Sayeh stressed that constructive cooperation between both public and private sectors was one of the most important reasons for the success of the project in reaching the world, pointing out that Muharraq has a rich cultural history and a distinctive urban fabric. She added that the aim of reviving the Muharraq, in terms of culture and construction, is to upgrade the city's infrastructure and encourage the people of Bahrain to return home for investment and housing.
