Speech by President Chissano of Mozambique at Foundation Stone Laying for Aga Khan Academy

Maputo, Mozambique, 25 June 2004 - Speaking at the foundation stone alying cermony in Maputo, President Chissano remarked that: 'It is our belief that this Academy will be a centre of excellence and will work collectively with the efforts of our education sector in improving the quality of lives of our citizens and their communities'. He reiterated that with quality education, youngsters would be in a better position to face, with wisdom, intelligence and creativity, the development challenges faced by Mozambique and that they would be capable of participating more effectively in the processes of development in a more globalised world.
