Revitalising the Citadels of Syria
Syria - August 2008 - From 1999 to 2007, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) undertook conservation work on the citadels of Aleppo, Salah ad-Din and Masyaf in partnership with the Syrian Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums.

Dhaka, Bangladesh - 20 May 2008 - His Highness the Aga Khan laid a foundation stone for Bangladesh's first Aga Khan Academy.

 

Annual Meeting of the International Baccalaureate Organization
Atlanta, Georgia, USA - 18 April 2008 - His Highness the Aga Khan delivered the 'Peterson Lecture' on Global Education and the Developing World to the Annual Meeting of the International Baccalaureate Organization, which was marking its 40th anniversary. The Aga Khan also met with Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue in Atlanta.

 

His Highness meets with rural communities in Cabo Delgado, one of Mozambique's most vulnerable provinces
Mozambique - 23 November 2007 - Cabo Delgado, the northernmost province, suffers the highest rates of human poverty in the country. In 2003, the percentage of people living below the national poverty line in Cabo Delgado was reported at 63.1% compared to the 54 % reported nationally.

 

Masterpieces of Islamic Art from the Aga Khan Museum
Paris, France - 1 October 2007 - His Highness the Aga Khan officially inaugurated the Exhibition "Chefs-d’œuvre islamiques de l’Aga Khan Museum" at the Louvre Museum, Paris, France.
