Protocol Agreement signed between AKDN and Bangladesh Government
16/09/2013 - A Protocol Agreement signed in Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, by the Foreign Minister, Dr Dipu Moni, and His Highness the Aga Khan, 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and founder and chairman of the AKDN establishes an enhanced framework for collaboration in the areas of social, cultural and economic development. Whilst in Bangladesh, the Aga Khan met with a number of senior government officials.

Microfinance for Women in Northern Pakistan
Since its establishment in 2005, the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM) has taken over 25 years of microfinance activities, programmes and banks that were administered by sister agencies within the AKDN. The underlying objectives of the Agency are to reduce poverty, diminish the vulnerability of poor populations and alleviate economic and social exclusion. more
