Aga Khan Trust for Culture Starts US$2.2 million Revitalisation of Forodhani Park in Zanzibar's Historic Stone Town
18 January 2008 - Zanzibar's First Lady, Her Excellency Madame Shadya Karume, and Prince Amyn Aga Khan - the younger brother of His Highness the Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims - took part today in a groundbreaking ceremony for the revitalisation of Zanzibar's Forodhani Park.

Microfinance for Women in Northern Pakistan
Since its establishment in 2005, the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM) has taken over 25 years of microfinance activities, programmes and banks that were administered by sister agencies within the AKDN. The underlying objectives of the Agency are to reduce poverty, diminish the vulnerability of poor populations and alleviate economic and social exclusion. more
