The Network’s education programmes strive to instil confidence and respect in children from an early age, so that these qualities carry them throughout their lives and contribute to positive change in society. At the Aga Khan Academy in Hyderabad, students extend their respect to the cultural, religious and political convictions of others in school and in society. They aim to understand and recognise the value of other views even as they value their own.
“Education is an intensely moral enterprise, which depends upon clear ethical rules…It is my hope that it will be members of this new generation who, driven by their own wide knowledge and inspiration, will change their societies.”
His Highness the Aga Khan speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony of the Aga Khan Academy, Kilindini, Mombasa, Kenya - 20 December 2003.
