Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation Project Improves Lives for over 200,000 people in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral
30 January 2015 - In an area where half the population did not have access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities, a four-year AKDN project, funded by the German government, to improve safe drinking water and sanitation facilities has benefited over 200,000 people in 12,000 households in the Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral (GBC) regions of Pakistan.

European Development Finance Institutions partner with AKDN to improve quality of life in developing countries
10 December 2014 - Three major European Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Société de Promotion et de Participation pour la Coopération économique PROPARCO (of France), FMO (The Netherlands Development Finance Company) and (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH of Germany) last week signed a 12-year loan facility of USD 189m with the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) to further development in Africa, the Middle East and South and Central Asia.
