Aga Khan Development Network: Aga Khan Visits India

India, 12 May 2008 - His Highness the Aga Khan is on an 8 day state visit to India at the invitation of the Vice President Mr. Mohammad Hamid Ansari. During his visit, the Aga Khan will meet with the President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Prime Minister Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Vice-President, Mr. Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Minister of State for External Affairs, and various other senior government officials. He will also visit visit Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and will meet with members of the Ismaili community who are commemorating the Golden Jubilee - 50 years - of His Highness' accession to the Imamat.
