How can international development NGOs best support a region's traditional musical culture? The presentation describes how the Aga Khan Music Initiative in Central Asia, a visionary programme founded by His Highness the Aga Khan, has responded to the mission of helping musicians in Central Asia sustain, develop, and pass on their musical heritage to the next generation of performers and audiences.
