13 September 2013 - The restoration of the Mughal Emperor Humayun’s 16th century garden tomb, the jewel of Mughal architecture that predates the Taj Mahal, has been completed. Nowruz marks the beginning of Spring, which is a cherished holiday in the Silk Route region. A second concert was performed at the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon on the 27th of March.

Music Initiative Releases Three New Volumes of Music of Central Asia CD-DVD Series
25 February 2010 - Music of Central Asia, the Aga Khan Music Initiative’s panoramic 10-volume audio-visual survey of contemporary tradition-based music from Central Eurasia, has added three new CD-DVD sets that expand the scope of Music of Central Asia both geographically and conceptually – by encompassing different regions of Uzbekistan as well as India and by showcasing the Music Initiative’s cross-cultural collaborations.
A Guide to Improving Disaster Resilience in Mountain Communities
22 January 2010 - Working with the people of Gorno-Badakhshan and the Government of Tajikistan, Focus Humanitarian Assistance has developed a guide that expands on indigenous knowledge and more recent practices to create a comprehensive guide to planning for, responding to and recovering from disasters.

The US State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat sign a landmark cooperation agreement
30 October 2009 - Governor Rick Perry of Texas and His Highness the Aga Khan signed a historic agreement in Austin on 30 October 2009, to expand collaboration in the areas of education, health sciences, natural disaster preparedness and recovery, culture and the environment. It stipulates that Texas and the AKDN will support partnerships between their respective educational institutions.
Building Disaster-Resilient Communities in Afghanistan
11 October 2009 - Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS) is currently implementing a Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) project designed to increase awareness and disaster-resilience in highly vulnerable communities in Afghanistan. The aim is to strengthen the capability of these communities to anticipate, prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters.
His Highness the Aga Khan is on a four-day visit to the Kyrgyz Republic to review AKDN activities in the country.
