19 October 2016
The first of three residential campuses for the University of Central Asia was inaugurated today by His Highness the Aga Khan and Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Aga Khan Trust for Culture's parks and gardens attract over 5 million people per year. Over 43 million visitors have visited since they opened.
Each year, in collaboration with its partners, the AKDN generates electricity for 10 million people who were previously without reliable energy supplies.
One million dollars are shared among prize winners, as determined by the independent Master Jury. Half the prize money is a grant for promoting the replicable aspects of the design.
