Introduction

A proposed Aga Khan Academy, a new school dedicated to an international level of excellence in education with a curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate, is part of AKDN activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). To ensure access regardless of socio-economic status or other limiting factors, admission will be merit-based and means-blind. For more information, please see the Social Development page.

The Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) is active in the DRC through its Industrial Promotion Services (Congo) sarl, an economic development institution based in Kinshasha. AKFED has made a number of investments in key industries that manufacture a variety of essential goods.
