The seminars are designed to address current developments in the architecture and built environment of Muslim societies and bring together government officials, architects, academics, planners, social scientists and designers and architectural writers among other experts.
Since the Award's inception, 23 thematic international seminars have been held in various parts of the world, including Almaty, Amman, Baku, Beijing, Beirut, Cairo, Dakar, Dhaka, Fez, Granada, Istanbul, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Malta, Moscow, Paris, Sana'a, Tehran, Yazd, Yogyakarta, and Zanzibar.
In addition to the international seminars, the Award organizes regular roundtable discussions, lectures and exhibitions to showcase shortlisted projects and award recipients. The events create a space for discussion and debate, bringing the crucial issues of the built environment to a wide audience of professionals, students and the general public.
