BBC World broadcast a four-part series on the 2007 Aga Khan Award for Architecture in September 2007. According to the BBC World website, "Building For Islam takes a close look at the finalists of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, recognising architectural excellence throughout the Islamic world: some ancient; some modern; some utilitarian; and all unique. This four-part series takes an exclusive access-all-areas look behind the scenes at the nominees as the world’s biggest architectural prize decides what’s in and what’s not in the Islamic architectural world."

Since its establishment in 2005, the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM) has taken over 25 years of microfinance activities, programmes and banks that were administered by sister agencies within the AKDN. The underlying objectives of the Agency are to reduce poverty, diminish the vulnerability of poor populations and alleviate economic and social exclusion. more
