The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is a group of development agencies with mandates that include the environment, health, education, architecture, culture, microfinance, rural development, disaster reduction, the promotion of private-sector enterprise and the revitalisation of historic cities. AKDN agencies conduct their programmes without regard to faith, origin or gender.
The Habitat Initiative in Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique, is working to enhance the quality of life of communities by empowering them to undertake significant improvements to their built environment, with a focus on building skills in improved ecological construction. More

Since its establishment in 2005, the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM) has taken over 25 years of microfinance activities, programmes and banks that were administered by sister agencies within the AKDN.
